Joyce liked to joots [jump out of the system] recreationally too, mixing vastly different games into one supergame, which he called Dominissimo [Latin "Lord of lords, domino of dominoes"]. The object of the game is simply to improve the players pattern recognition. By placing digits bricklike in square or triangular or hexagonal patterns an ever growing and changing tableau of interlocking pip sequences, with the pips readable in different number combinations in different directions, is generated. It can be adapted to be played with cards (Joker, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), dice (base 6, 12 or 20), on blackboard, or paper, though it is best played as originally intended with the fifty-five nine-pip dominoes, where the tableau can easily be viewed from different directions, the bingo or double zero can represent infinity, 00 or the lazy eight, ∞.
The dealer begins by giving each of the n players, 55/(n +1) dominoes. This would therefore vary between 27 to himself for solitaire, down to just 3 each for 13 to 16 players. With more players and less cards per player, teams and the importance of trumps increases.
One of the tiles left over is turned over. The higher number on the tile, read as low, determines what is trump. If bingo or double-zero, 00, is turned, eagles (aka green) is trump. If any of the numbers in the set, {2, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 31, 33, 35} is turned up, it is noire. If any in the set, {1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30, 34} is turned up, it is rouge. If it is however 36 or greater the topside (the side with the greater number) determines the trump. 7 of trumps (dix) and the 9 of trumps (sancho) are always wild. 5 and 10 (woolworths) are wild when played in combination. Some tiles therefore may or may not be trump and/or wild, depending upon how they're played.
The dealer can choose to keep the extra dominoes (the crib) or trade them to a player for an equal or larger number of tiles (the widow). The dealer's or player's sluff (discard) tiles then becomes the burn and is added to the unplayable bone pile.
In Dealer's Choice Dominissimo the dealer also chooses when the game ends, when the first player cannot play, or when no player can play, or if the play continues into the third dimension by allowing moving edge tiles on top of already played inner tiles with the object of squoping them, with or without rotation, which chess or fairy chess [HUM: highly unusual methods] moves (hopping, jumping, leaping) are allowable to the ultimate goal of the zod (last move), squoping the boorj.
======================================================================
For example, say the tile turned up is a 26. The higher end is 6, meaning that sixes are trump and the tile 67 wild.
The first player of four, to the right of the dealer, call him EAST, plays the first of domino of his 13, the 70, and declared its value as "seventy".
The tableau arrangement can be designated spirally as below, starting with {0, 0}, so that all positions and orientations both square (integers) and triangular (half integers) can be designated by just two ends..

This first play is therefore recorded as:
(1.) 70 @ {0, 0}-{1, 0} (a seventy)
The next player, SOUTH, then must play a tile that adds to the overall tableau, while deceasing SOUTH's tiles. (It "must increase, while I must decrease." (Jn 3:30). When the bingo (double zero), 00, is played as ∞, the game goes from the finite into the transfinite, so that all further play must include it, noting that transfinites are not communicative. 00 added to EAST's 70 therefore could be either 7000, "seven thousands" or 0070 "seventy infinities".
SOUTH however plays an 81 on the 7 side of the 70, at position 6, oriented in the direction of 7, to make a big fish, {8, 7}. SOUTH could also have played this same tile to make at 4, 5, 21, 22, 23, which all neighbor the 7 at 0, and several orientations from these, depending on the other tiles SOUTH holds and how SOUTH hopes to play them.
2. 81 @ {0, 1}-{0, 2}, {8, 7} @ {0, 1}-{0, 0}
The third player, WEST, plays a 92, making a transversale pleine.
3. 92 @ {0, -1} to {-1, -1}, {9, 8, 7} @ {0, 1} to {0, -1)
Adding the wild dix, 67, as a 10, NORTH makes an abmas.
4. 67 @ {0, -2} to {0, -3}, {10, 9, 8, 7} at {0, 1} to {0, -3}
EAST is able to play the wonx, 11, indicated as a double by being played perpendicularly, which gives EAST the right to play another tile, 12, to make a sixaine.
5. 11 @ {½, -5} to {-½, -5} and 12 @ {-6, 0} to {-7, 0}, {12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7} @ {1, 0} to {-7, 0}
